Swinghammer Demo Now Live!

I'm excited to announce that the demo for Swinghammer is now live and available to play right here on itch.io!

Swinghammer is a 2D, physics-based hobby and job simulation game built in Godot 4.4. Developed as a solo project, Swinghammer aims to showcase innovative mechanics and handcrafted pixel art.
Developed in Godot 4.4, this is a solo project built to explore expressive, tactile mechanics and environmental interactions.

What’s in the Demo?

In this early build, you’ll get hands-on with the core mechanics:

• Cursor-controlled hammering: Weighty, physics-based control for forging hot steel.

• Environmental interaction: Use your cursor to operate bellows, move steel and activate tools.

• Quench steel: Transfer hot steel into the water barrel to ensure a high quality quench.
  

• Blade sharpening: Take a hardened blade to a spinning grindstone, sending sparks flying, until the blade shines.
  

• Dynamic feedback: Expect particles and sound effects for every interaction.

• Shop upgrades: Sell high quality blades and save up to upgrade from a fire-prone wood and straw workshop into something less flammable.
  

• Pay insurance: If your workshop is prone to going up in flames, expect to pay more insurance at the end of the day.

This demo is still very much a work-in-progress, but I wanted to share it now to start gathering feedback from the community. I'm experimenting with how satisfying it feels to interact with tools and strike materials in a way that’s both fun and grounded.

Why Release a Demo Now?

• I want to see how people engage with the core mechanics.

• I'm curious about which parts feel intuitive or need polish.

• And honestly, I just couldn’t wait any longer to get this project out there!
